M.S. Pipes (Mild Steel Pipes) are pipes made using mild steel containing carbon contents of less than 0.18%. Because of low carbon content they do not get hardened. Mild steel is available in a variety of structural shapes that can be easily welded into pipe, tube, tubing etc. Mild steel pipes and tubes are easy to fabricate, readily available, and cost less than most other metals. In well protected environments, the life expectancy of mild steel pipe is 50 to 100 years.
Mild Steel pipes and tubing are used for structural, mechanical & general engineering purposes. It is also used for drinking water supply.
Mild Steel pipes and tubing are used for structural, mechanical & general engineering purposes. It is also used for drinking water supply.
Generally, these pipes are coated with metals such as copper, to protect them from corrosion. The use of sodium silicate and chlorination inhibit corrosion in mild steel pipes However, extra care is always required to prevent mild steel pipes from rusting.
Applications:
Mild Steel pipes are used in furniture industries, domestic applications, bus body, fencing, Structural Purposes, General Engineering Purposes, Water Steel Pipes.
